Illustrated Atlas of the Himalaya – David Zurick and Julsun Pacheco

The scenic photo on the front of the Illustrated Atlas of the Himalaya is only a glimpse of what can be found inside of the atlas as the 228 page atlas presents a stunning look into the beauty that is the Himalayan mountain range.  The famous mountain range is considered the top of the world for their scenery and the many ancient cultures that are buried inside of the cultural and biological diversity many of which are still alive and well.  For example, you can find some of the most unique cultures in the world within this region.

The Illustrated Atlas of the Himalaya offers a large overview of the many different cultures that are contained within the Himalayan region, as well as the politics, geography, and different types of economies within the area.  Also contained within the atlas as the name denotes is a brilliant full colour atlas that folds out to show the life and land of the highest mountains on the world.  Each piece of information presented about the Himalaya’s grows much more interesting as the pages unfold to paint a beautiful and awe inspiring picture of the land.

Due to the fact that the authors have spent more than twenty five years combined exploring the region and studying the many different lifestyles within it the atlas is able to offer readers a unique and unmatchable collection of different maps of the area that offer the best photographs, compelling text, and top of the line cartography maps.  Nothing is left out of this atlas as the entire Himalayan range that reaches 2,700sq kilometres is covered including the areas that tip into Nepal, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, and even areas in the north-eastern area of India and displayed over more than 300 different photographs and maps.
